Santorum Withdraws, Can Paul Push Ahead?

"My goal was to shrink the size of government, balance our budget, pay the bills, have sound money and live within our means and mind our own business..."  Ron Paul

Columbia, MO, April 12, 2012 - Watching the Republican delegate count is quite amusing.  Depending on where you look depends on the size of the lead.  On top of that, presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has just announced he is pulling out of the race.  What is the significance of Santorum's decision, does Ron Paul still have a chance, and do Americans really understand what's at stake?

With Santorum dropping out, all kinds of questions should be running through our minds.  Will he endorse another candidate?  What does it mean for the remaining three?  And, maybe the most important question of all...did he drop out to try and ensure there will be no brokered convention, hoping the race goes to Romney and he gets a cushy position in a Romney cabinet?  All good questions, to be sure!   But, if the St. Charles, Missouri caucus is any indication, things may be far better than even Ron Paul supporters think!

"This race is not over, even though the media is spinning the Santorum withdrawal as a win for Romney.  IF Romney doesn't get that magic 1,144 delegates, Paul supporters know what can happen at a brokered convention, all delegates will be freed to vote for whomever they chose," says Debbie Lewis, writer of the recently released The Ron Paul Uprising.  "That opens up all kinds of possibilities for Ron Paul!"

What does that mean?  The desire of Paul supporters to override the mainstream media's bias towards this truly unique candidate and to help people see that a Ron Paul presidency is right for this country is as important now as it ever has been.  "Now, more than ever, people need to understand what Ron Paul stands for.  If Republicans truly support Constitutional government, they will embrace Ron Paul," says filmmaker William Lewis, director of The Ron Paul Uprising, a exposé about the character it takes to be a good president, what Ron Paul brings to the table, many of the missteps of the Obama presidency and it even sheds light on the various ways vote fraud is accomplished.

The media will no doubt shift all its attention to Romney, in light of Santorum's announcement, but Paul vows not to quit.  His supporters know what's at stake and what it's going to take to win...getting the most delegates at the national convention.  "What's at stake right now is either a return to our constitutional roots or business as usual.  Can we really afford business as usual?  I don't think so," says associate producer, Gary Franchi.

For all the unrest about our leadership, the population of this country has a golden opportunity to see that Ron Paul, the only non-status quo presidential hopeful, is elected.  The chance to send someone to the White House who truly understands why this country was founded doesn't come along every election cycle.  Will we take a bold step toward Paul or will we drop the ball and listen to the media rhetoric that Paul doesn't stand a chance and support the status quo?  The choice is ours...For all our sakes, let's hope we make the right one...Ron Paul!
